Times Are Slow
So you all know, times are slow politically and I’ve encountered some writer’s fatigue.I could go into our district’s increased graduation rates this year and, in particular, compare those rates to neighboring counties, but why beat up Pinellas and Hernando.
I could go into the Pinellas superintendent Julie Janssen proposal to increase Pinellas property tax rates to help fund their district’s shortfalls, but why beat her up? She took over just recently from a controversial predecessor.
I could go into the three Tampa Bay water projects that originally cost $406 million and still need another $160 million to work properly, but, why beat up our local politicians.
I could go into big raises at top levels of county government while others have to swallow a $144 million deficit, but why beat up Pat Bean.
I could go on about how boring a writer Daniel Ruth has become, and how a case of Viagra might help his creativity. But why beat up a guy who has lost his pencil lead?
And…..I could always go into the asinine comments made at the last board meeting by my two favorite employers, code-named Harvard and Yale, but why beat up those two right now. Let’s wait for something good.
So I’ll leave you this for the moment: SP Times reporter Tom Marshall wrote that the district has a $233 million reserve fund. OK! For $1 mil, I’m gone.
