And I thought No One Cared

Since January, I’ve posted about 60 pieces on this site. Some I thought were good, some funny, some just OK. Recently, though, I’ve received very little feedback: no anonymous comments, or, a sly comment or two from friends.

Then suddenly, I receive some favorable feedback from my daily readers. The first sign was in the form of a letter from Professional Standards requesting my presence. Don’t know the exact agenda at this moment, but I suspect someone in the upper strata of the school district took umbrage to my attempts at Andy Borowitwz-style satire and humor. More on that later in the week.

Then today, I received a comment from a happy camper who thinks I’m a jack-ass, a white-trash piece of Schmidt, and a f_ _ _ ing child molester from the FDLE website.

So nice to be beloved!! Maybe the writer is the henpecked husband of one of my friends Hoity and Toity.

Surprising though that my above admirer commented on my thoughts about the economy and buying a truck, not something directed at any person or school board meeting. Dang! What if I had written something about my cherry tomato crop? That may have really stirred the pot.

I will admit to you now that some souls who read my work could possibly, maybe, perhaps accidentally, take offense at something I’ve written. Hard to believe but true.

To those folks: nothing personal intended. I’ll apologize now for hurting anyone’s feelings or frolicking with anyone’s sense of self-worth. I’m just a grumpy old man who has trouble making nice.

One the other hand………There was a school board member from Nantucket……..
