Updates:
Term-limited city council member John Dingfelder has filed to run for the District 1 county commission seat now held by Rose Ferlita. He must believe Rose will run for city mayor instead of another term for county commission. Another city council member, Mary Mulhern, has also shown interest in running for Ferlita’s seat. Compared to Ms. Ferlita, a real pharmacist and real businesswoman, these two have the IQs of field mice.No surprise that two politicians making $30,000 year without hope of ever having a real job are wanting to pursue a $90,000 a year job.
On my way to work Monday, I just happened pull up behind the little red Mercedes coup driven by Susan Valdes. I forgot she had personalized tags: MRS SLV. And, she ran a red light at Florida and Sligh. No surprise there given her lack of regard for ethics, rules, policies, or law.
Recently, a north Tampa banker and writer came out publicly against cell towers being erected on the campus of any district school.
Sase Persaud, who has children in Pride Elementary and Benito Middle School, told the Tribune that, “I know I am on the side of scientific evidence. There are 52 studies from Japan to Korea to France to Sweden.”
While speaking on his cell phone, Mr. Persaud also told the Tribune reporter he takes large doses of Icelandic fish oil daily to stave off cosmic rays.
Lastly, our county commission will honor former district superintendent Earl Lennard with the annual Good Citizen Award. Good for Earl. While I never totally agreed with all of his decisions, he was tireless in trying to build and maintain a quality system for students.
Our old friend and chief hallucinator, Lee Decesare, takes great umbrage to this award. The funny farm escapee thinks Lennard a villain for 15 year old deeds.
I hope that, very soon, a female member of a future school board meeting has a quiet word with Lee. At 73 years old, the ultimate gadfly Decesare likes to address the school board each meeting sans bra. Yikes!! That’ll give your evening sour mash a rough edge.
