A Note From Kevin

The below text is a comment posted by County Commissioner Kevin Beckner. He is responding to a piece I wrote yesterday. I want to make certain everyone reads it. Thank you, Kevin.

I do hope the local papers verify publicly. No sense letting this rumor hang out there.

You're right, it ain't so. The rumors that are circulating are not true. I graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy in 1991 and proudly served as a certified law enforcement officer with the Indiana University Police Department. These facts have been verified by many reporters including Bill Varian and Mike Deeson.

Does Charlie Crist Horde Aluminum Foil???


I forget. Was Charlie Crist wanting to become McCain’s running mate….or Obamas?

Yesterday in Orlando, Crist addressed a group of educators. He said, according to the Orlando Sentinel, “There’s no need to talk about closing schools. There’s no need to talk about firing teachers. When we get this stimulus money….we’ll be able to have more schools, pay teachers more and Florida’s education will continue to rise.”

Are we still on the same planet as Charlie? With his constant George Hamilton tan, have too many tropical rays penetrated his Florida coconut?

If you read news from around the state, every school district has a budget crisis. Every school district has made severe budget cuts this year and each anticipates equal funding problems next school year…stimulus money or not. Remember, that stimulus money is targeted, not for general funds.

So Chas, Chuck, Charles me Lad: What the heck are you talking about??? What are you thinking?

I’ve mentioned before that the late Ralph Hughes, the rich Republican, always liked to say, “Our school district has a spending problem, not a funding problem.” He even paid off April Griffin to repeat those words many times.

Ralph and Charlie now have something in common: Ralph is pushing up dandelions and Charlie is drinking that wine.

In the light of full disclosure, I did vote for Charlie.
