To Patrick Manteiga: You're a Good Man Gunga Din

Last week, I blasted La Gaceta editor and publisher Patrick Manteiga for reporting that my wife, Janice Torgersen, was a racist and supported an alleged racist Republican candidate.

In this week’s La Gaceta, Manteiga apologized and said, “We were harsh with Torgersen last week……” and “We’re sorry for the error.”

Holy Moley----where’s the bourbon!!

To be fair, when I showed the story to Janice, she immediately called Patrick. Someone took the message and he returned the call quickly. They talked and that was that. I will say, Patrick must have worn his industrial strength athletic supporter, had great patience, and listened. You’re a good man Gunga Din!

Janice keeps telling me he’s a fair-minded guy. I keep saying he’s a biased burro. But, that’s just me.

I do applaud Mr. Manteiga for doing the right thing.

I will question here and now his sources, particularly those with Republican roots. Patrick needs to ask himself what motives do his sources have for calling and informing? Are there self-promoting political reasons? Are there agendas? And why would someone smear my wife’s reputation? Sounds like someone has self-serving purposes.

Somewhere in the Hillsborough County Republican Executive Committee is a mole, a dirty rat, a fink, a sleaze bucket so slimy that…that…I need another drink.

I hate to make nice with Patrick and can’t wait until next week’s La Gaceta. Maybe then I can get back to fussing over his liberal ideas and his two board puppets, April and Susan.

On another note:

Carol Carter will not run for the now open Hillsborough County Republican State Committee Woman slot……and she has not and never would endorse Mel Jurado! I hear many Temple Terrace Republicans are relieved.
