Lee "The Loony Tune" DeCesare

I hope most know the names Connie Milito and Jim Hamilton and their work for the Hillsborough School District. Milito has for years represented the district locally and in Tallahassee as a legislative lobbyist, making lawmakers understand the district’s needs, as well as the consequences and unintended consequences of their actions. She has done a sterling job.

Recently, Jim Hamilton, former deputy superintendent for the district, has been contracted to help Mileto with her lobbying efforts. Prior to his current lobbying efforts and during his tenure with the district, Hamilton was known at the CIO (chief intellectual officer). His real genius is in crunching numbers, truly understanding funding formulas, and ultimately, saving the district millions over many years.

Milito and Hamilton have worked together for years. I think of them as Beauty and the Beast. Milito is petite, professional in her dress, and most professional in her approach to work. Hamilton, though truly smart and savvy, would never be mistaken for Robert Redford in looks or manner.

Unfortunately for Mileto and Hamilton, the Loony One, aka Lee Decesare, has attacked both personally for years. Her blog, the CastingRoom Couch, was even named after the relationship perceived by Ms. Decesare. Her lowly snipes go back years when Decesare was a columnist for LaGaceta. Even editor Patrick Mantiega, who hates the school district enough to endorse the minimally educated Susan Valdes and April Griffin, had to fire Decesare for her slanderous attacks.

In her most recent entry to her blog titled “The Floozies,” Decesare describes Milito as “you who creep to the top through seduction,” and follows that comment with, “y’all floozies make me want to puke.”

Truth is, how would we know if she puked. She’s been vomiting words for years and the bile is old and stinky. The buzzards are holding their noses. If Decesare wasn’t so hateful and ubiquitous in her personal attacks, most of us would think her amusing. She has gone beyond that.

Milito’s and Hamilton’s reputations deserve a vigorous public defense to DeCesare’s embarrassing rhetoric.

It is time for Lee Decesare to take her dementia and go away….and blow her smelly smoke up someone else’s patoot.

Mr, Schmidt, did you write this to the editor of the Tribune?

Just Do The Math

Let's try a little math: Start with one overpaid superintendent who lacks communication and leadership skills, add seven overpaid school board members who can't get along, throw in thousands of teachers who are overworked and underpaid, combine that with too few school nurses and bus drivers and, finally, take away life-enriching programs like orchestra and art.

What you get is thousands of overcharged taxpayers whose children's education is in serious peril.

*********************************************************

I think that if you look past Mrs. DeCesare's rhetoric, you will find that the two of you have more in common than you realize.

Mrs. Decesare is pointing out the duplication of services (BTW, we also have Bob Martinez on a no-bid lobbyist contract of $35K plus expenses per year), to the possible detriment of our school's finances.

Let's rid ourselves of administratiive bloat, cronyism, favoritism, and back-scratching, and focus on what really matters - student education.

It is ironic that you point out our "minimally educated" board members when you yourself do not have a degree.

You as a minimally educated individual have run twice so you are either a hypocrit, politically inept or both.

And for all of your ramblings about the inferior quality of Griffin and Valdes what does it say about you and your wife that they have beaten you not once, not twice, but thrice (And prsumably this will replay itself yet again in 2010 given your posturing).

We have your number Dave. Why would you take a big pay cut to serve on the board? Simple. I would submit that it is the 3% pension plan vestment rate that the elected officals class enjoys. Given that you are well behind the curve in your years of service (And thus the percentage of your salary that you are entitled to at retirement) at the district, doubling the rate of your pension vestment as the elected official class would do sure sets you up for a better retirement. Doesn't exactly sound like you're running for a higher purpose just the typical self serving cronysim of the Rossac bunch that defend in a futile attempt to get them to accept you.

This is a very long sip of sour grapes that you are taking Dave. My question to you is this: do have the fortitude to post this?

BTW this posting will be going up on every blog and news posting that has your name on it. We're going to let people know what you are really about.
